Hi there,
I have a diesel injector to withdraw from a head cylinder. The thread at the top of the injector was threaded due to an incorrect technique and it's now in the way, it must go. I withdrew the other 3 injectors without any issues after this incident, however, now the female adaptor does not catch anymore, here is a video showing the amount of thread that came off.
I could have welded the adapter from the mechanical rod however, I don't have the gear for that. I am used of using Chemset to make anchors on jobs, however, this situation contains variables. Using a glue type compound would allow me to incinerate the compound, therefore it will be easy for me to clean the parts off. So far I tried, clean up with fire and acetone first before every attempt, standard super glue, however, there is too much gap between the parts and it does not keep them together. I have tried standard epoxy but maybe I did not apply it adequately or did not clean the parts correctly after the superglue attempt, therefore it did not deliver success. I am planning to give it another go today.
In case this attempt fails, I will be asking this community weather it would be more adequate to use Epoxy, Cyanocrylate or something else, knowing that the shear force will be tremendous as I am using a mechanical screw to pull the injector out. The body of this injector is covered in rust type grit.
