Hi
Does anyone know where or how I can get shear strength data about stainless steel wire 302/304 for small diameters (0.032")?
Thanks

Wire data is usually given as tension properties. You can estimate the shear strength ad 0.577 to 0.65 of the tensile strength.

You have only provided a chemical composition type. You will need to provide more information than that, for example what are the wire processing conditions. For general information regarding shear strength, see thread404-73857.

You will need to know the minimum diameter and the minimum strength level allowed by the specification that you are using. At these sizes the actual diameter is very critical.

Corrosion never sleeps, but it can be managed.
