hi!
I am using ACI 318 for the first time (I am Irish & normally use BS 8110) as I am using the steel section (I or H) shearhead design method in the code. I have made a ggod attempt at the design and am quite happy with it. However I think I have some questions that remain unanswered & a design example would help - does anyone know of one on the web?
Example of Q's:
the width of the cracked compostie slab taken into account when determining alpha_v (ie c1 + d). When I have 2 arms on each side of the column - what width do I take: c1 + d + arm to arm distance ??
Should the I section be anchored to the concrete via shear studs/ welded rebar ??
Thanks for the help
