I'm making an angled air shoot tube that has a connecting square that fits into a square output tube. The top of the shoot angles down from the connecting square

What I have is essentially an 10" extruded "n" channel. Both sides of this "n" have a cut 2" from the connecting square end, forming an "n" with a both long (8" less the cut) and short (2"wide) side flanges. I want to bend the longer (8") part down (bend is on the top of the "n" 2" from the end. When I do, the flanges of the long area overlap the side of the connecting square are (the 2" flanges).

Should I just trim the overlap, or is there a better way? Since they are both on the same plane, I was having problems cutting only the longer side pieces that overlapped the 2" sides. Do I have to cut the longer sides before I even make the short sides?

I'd like a way to trim after bending, because many times, I'm not always sure of all the dimensions of each part (they develop as parts are formed etc. as the design evolves on screen)

I suppose I could use the entities tool to measure the overlap...I just thought there must be an easier way.

It would be nice to have a "extend fang to surface" tool that incorporated gaps and or a weld where they met
