Or maybe it doesn't - I may be missing something.

I'm working on new drawing templates for a customer and have experienced something which has me baffled:

The second sheet of this drawing needs to be a blank page (no title block), with a flat pattern view (the parts are always sheet metal) at a scale of 1:1.

I have saved a drawing template that has the second sheet at a scale of 1:1 (or so I think). If I go to the second sheet, prior to placing any views, I can see 1:1 at the lower right corner of the screen. If I go to the sheet properties before placing any views, the sheet properties form shows 1:1.

As soon as I place a view, even when I check "Use Sheet Scale" on the view creation form, the sheet scale changes, and not always to the same thing. The display in the lower right corner reflects the new scale, as does the sheet properties form.

WTF???????????? Why should placing a new view cause the sheet scale to change? A bug? A problem with my installation?

On another note, what is the significance of the scale shown in the lower right corner of the screen when I have a part document open? Does this have anything to do with my problems?

SW2004, SP4.2, by the way.

Thanks,
Dave Gowans

Try unchecking Tools\options\System Options\Drawings - "Automatically scale new Drawing views"

I don't see a "scale" when I'm in a part? Only in a drawing do I see the scale.
