Hi Folks,
Does anyone know how to flatten this impeller blade, created using the 'project geometry' from the main backplate of the impeller body.
The curves in the backplate were generated with the 'spline' command (has to be on this occasion)
I sometimes use circles, lines & arc commands for generating the blade, and they flatten out ok, but using spline doesnt seem to work. Any ideas appreciated.

The thickness of the part is not consistent. In order for inventor to flatten it needs to be the same thickness all through the part.

As constructed this part will not flatten.

Hi mcgyvr, seems to me that sheetmetal flatten command will not work on anything created from a spline, the way i have tried this is to create a simple spline, use the offset, then join the open ends, place a dim for the thickness, extrude, then convert to sheetmetal, into the sheetmetal style and enter material thickness (same value as the dim).
I thought that using the offset would make this a constant thickness.
Shapes generated from lines, arcs, circles generally will flatten out, but not a spline.
