I have a tee joint of Box sections (square hollow section) in Ansys WB. Both of them have same outer sizes however thiknesses are different. When i model them with midsurfaces the walls are not matching on which created stress singularities.

I was thinking about to model the shells in outer dimensions of the sections which would coincide on and offset the thinknesses using bottom offset option. But what stops me is the different stress patterns in this case. I run a few trials and it looks this option gives quite different results in comparison with a model made out of midsurfaces.

Do you have ony other recommended option?

Try solid modelling if you are interested in the intersection stresses. The stress contour will be uniform and logical than shell modelling.
