Short rafter framing into truss

Got a roof that has a open hallway, so going to use trusses on each side (one side is lower) and then a 2x10 to span over the hall. Would a concealed hanger work to catch the 2x10 on the edge of the truss? Or should I attach a ledger board and frame into that?

I like the ledger. You could also cantilever the trusses 5' either side with a coffer if needed. Depending on your situation, that might have implications for fire stuff or shear transfer to the corridor walls though.

Thanks. Actually the other side is lower, so it would be about a 6' top chord cantilever. Looking back at my notes, the architect wants 16" deep rafters due to insulation issues. Need to double check that. But that would easily be doable with a special truss.

We often do trusses in apartment buildings and nursing homes that are roughly like what KootK said. The flat BC often jumps up 3' or so at the hallway. i.e. 8 walls in the rooms, and 11' in the hallway.

If you want to post a sketch of what you have I could try to take a crack at it. Or I could post an example of the truss I described above.
