Hi All;
I just finishing a design the repair of a retaining wall in a tidal region. The solution involves installing a new structural shotcrete face over an existing wall. I have used this solution a number of times with great success, except it has never been in a tidal area before. I am concerned about the constructability of it and want some advice.
I have modified the concrete to withstand the hard marine environment. However, it needs to be installed within inches of the low-tide point. At best, there is a 2 hour time period between when the tired recedes past the bottom of the wall and when it is submerged again. Will the shotcrete be able to set-up enough to withstand this without washout?
Any advice and experience is appreciated!
