I am accessing my work computer from home through a remote desktop connection. Manipulating 3D shaded solids works ok through this connection. But manipulating a 2D cross section made of many lines and arcs does not. Simply selecting or scrolling takes forever because the image redraws so slowly.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

If you're talking about the Dynamic Sectioning, most of that is done using hardware accelerators and therefore the system has to revert to display emulation when running with a setup like yours. Shading itself, is not as intensive since the content of the display is static with only the need to perform matrix transforms (zoom and rotates) but with dynamic sectioning, you are adding and removing graphical elements to the display in real time as well as calculating intersections between the model and the cutting plane to even know what objects to add or remove.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

The 2D cross sections are made of non-parametric curves.

Are you talking about section views on a Drawing or the dynamic section you see on the 3D display where you can drag the cutting plane and the view updates? If it the dynamics section are you displaying the section curves and are you using he dynamic update option for the curves?

In the modeling application. Not dynamic sections. Just lines and arcs. Not 3D bodies.
