Greetings everyone,
I'm searching for shrink-swell factors relating to soil type used in earthwork calculations. I know there are ranges out there, but I'm looking for more specific information related
to sand, clay, and silt. Or UCS and AASHTO types of soils.
Is there more than just the 25 to 35% ranges?
Thanks for your assistance.

Check out some previous threads - there has been some 4 or 5 of them in the last half year.

I can help you with some of those, but BigH is correct, I contributed...and argued in some cases regarding the use of shrink factors. You might want to look at some of those first.

I ditto the previous comments - check the threads first.

The simple answer is 'yes' - I've seen it as low as 15% to 20%, and seldom as high as 30%. It probably depends a lot on the local geology/materials -
