shrinkwrap/drawing issues

I have a very large assembly from a supplier. The powers that be do not want to check all of the files into windchill (350+ parts), so I have to use a shrinkwrap part to show these parts in the drawing. Now we need to cut sections through the shrinkwrap part and the view quality is horrible and slow.
Is there any way to get these files to appear better in the drawing side? Possibly some other way than shrinkwrap, keeping in mind I can only check in one part.

You could shrinkwrap it as a merged solid, and increase the quality number until you get the quality you want. I would simplify it as much as possible first though (remove nuts, blots, washers, small parts, etc.)
