We've been offering a shrouded version of a small (86 inch dia, 900 rpm) PA fan with messy bolted construction for a few decades, and the only supporting technical info I've found is a reference to "increasing efficiency by 10% and reducing power for the same performance."

I've been looking in fan design handbooks and manuals for generic results of adding a shroud to an open centrifugal blower. Everybody has comparisons of radial vs FC vs BC design.

Does someone know a source of such general information?

thanks

university courses on aerodynamics usually contain that, so you could look at university textbooks if nowhere else is available.

Fan design is not nearly so simple as you envision it. Fan design will require university courses and lots of hands-on training.
