SHS truss to HEB column connection 1

Dear Sir/madam,
i am analysing a structure that has a big span of 30m, so i think trusses (of the roof) are unavoidable, and the columns needed are HEB type.
Most trusses (of SHS section)that i have seen in my short engineering life are just lying above concrete columns.

Do you think that connections between HEB-SHS sections in a building such as the one attached are easy to construct? Or the contractor will laugh at me (and i have better find a different solution)? :-D

I think there are many easy and conventional ways to connect the SHS to the HEB. But even if you come up with one that doesn't mean the contractor wont laugh at you.

Whether the connection is easy to construct or not depends on how you detail it and the capabilities of the contractor.

Do you have any sketch in mind for what you would like to see there?

Apparently the connections between HEB column -SHS truss is MOMENT CONNECTION...And i will not suggest ..You may extent the top chord and support the truss on the HEB section and delete the bottom chord -HEB rigid connection and provide bolted simple stability shear tab conn.

The following detail from the book HOLLOW SECTIONS IN STRUCTURAL APPLICATIONS (Wardenier) and assume the SHC column is HEB in your case..
