Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can find any standard for external side rear view mirror break-away force? I can't find it anywhere in FMVSS 571.

Also if anyone knows a typical Cd (Co-eff of drag) value for a standard car side mirror, or a nominal drag force, that would be most helpful also. My reference speed is about 86m/s, but any will do.

Many thanks,

If I remember correctly commercial vehicles are 90 lbs of force. NHTSA should have something on it. 86 meters per second is rather fast? Nearly 200 mph.
