I have a Siemens S7-315 that was password protected from a previous employee. The employee cannot be found. Does anybody know how to get around this password. Also I was told the this ex-employee used symbol tables when programming. Does anybody know how I can cross reference the ladder bits to the actual I/O wiring so that I know which bit is reffering to which instrument.

??

Don't know about the pass word, But the I/O are the Q bits such as Q45.1. If you dont have the original program, If and when you extract the logic from the PLC It will look like that. If you had the original program you can turn the symbols off by clicking on the litle tag shaped thing at the top of step 7.

To find where Q45.1 is located in the rack, look in hardware, that will show up in the rack lay out.
