Does anyone know where in the code sight glasses are covered?

I'm having trouble finding suppliers that are guaranteed to be complaint with Section VIII.

I'm also contemplating making my own since the few quotes I've gotten are very expensive, any tips or advice if I go down this road?

Thank you in advance.

For vessels used in human occupancy we use the ASME PVHO-1:2007 code.

It is solely for Pressure Vessels for Human Occupancy (PVHO) so I am sure there will be a more appropriate code for your application.

I'm assuming you are talking about level gages not flow gages. I strongly advise against against the do it yourself approach on any attachments for pressure vessels unless your have knowledge of all the parameters. These gages are not normally a component of a PV but are attachments out side the boundary of the vessel.

I don't know what code is used in the construction of say a high pressure flat level gages but the connection are all to an ANSI Class, 150, 300, etc.

I would give someone like Pennberthy a call.

Yeah designing my own is out of the question, it could probably be done but the consequences of failure greatly outweigh any savings in cost.

I searched around and found a company that will supply one for a reasonable price so this is the route I will go.

Thank you for the replies.
