Silica sand in cement mix

Good day everyone. I've been working on the extraction of construction materials and have noticed that the sand I've recently excavated is corroding the cement mix and the bricks produced. We were informed that this sand has a high silicon content. As a chemist, I assume the silicon present must be in a reactive form other than SiO2.

Has anyone had a similar situation, or can provide me with any advice for this situation?
