I am trying to run a coupled temp-displacement model in 2019 standard (i.e. not explicit) and I am getting an error saying that the 'sim' file cannot be opened. The specific error is: "SIM database file cannot be opened - No such file: C:\Abaqus Work (Current)\_Practice\Reflx\Tmp_59888_3DSymm.sim (code 1013): C:\Abaqus Work (Current)\_Practice\XXX\XXX.sim". One weird thing about this error is that the file is listed twice, but that might just be a quirk of how the error trapping is coded so I am not sure if I should read anything into it. For completeness, the .sim file does not exist so the error is right. I am just not sure why it is looking for one because as far as I can tell .sim files are only used for files that have restart defined or are linear perturbations steps. But this is neither of those.

No message file [highlight is created and the dat and log files don't have anything in them pertaining to this problem.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, is there a fix?

Any help is appreciated.
Dan

These files are also used for substructures. Anyway you should check your INP file to make sure that there are no commands calling for such file.

Yeah I saw that too but I forgot to put that in the post. I am not using them, to be honest I am not even sure I know how to set something up to use them, but it is a good idea to check the input file to make sure.
