Hi all,

I am new to CATIA, and I was given an assignment at work to do a simple drafting work. To change the rev of the supplier print. I did that, no problem.

The question, and problem I am having is, updating the drawing rev block. Here, they did not use the design table, but lines and regular text. I don't know enough about CATIA to copy and move one of the line of text and actually geometry of line to copy for the new rev.

Example: The drawing has rev's A to E on the print in a rev block. The easiest way is to copy line and text of rev C and put it where rev F is going to be. Then, I change the text in the newly copied line to reflect all of rev F information.

I hope I didn't confuse anyone. I appreciate all your help. If there is an easier way, please let me know.

Thanks,

RC

For most users, this is a 3 step process. You might be able to skip steps 1 & 3, and just do step 2.

1. switch to background view (EDIT + SHEET BACKGROUND)

2. copy the lines and text (select the stuff to be copied, INSERT + GEOMETRY MODIFICATION + TRANSFORMATION + TRANSLATE, choose Duplicate mode, click "from" point, click "to" point) and edit the text

3. switch back to drawing views (EDIT + WORKING VIEWS)

I've never used a Design Table for the titleblock either.

Thanks, jackk!!!

It worked like a charm! I just didn't go deep enough down the menu tree to see all those options. You are a life saver! LOL
