I was having a problem with my graphics card a 'NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200'. When I opened a sub-assembly from the hierarchy tree from a higher assembly, the display would be blank. Edges would highlight and the model could be rotated. I accidently hit 'F5' (the windows refresh key) and it refreshed my model as well. Pretty simple huh?

F-5?????

F-5 should be used for toggle on/off the selection filter toolbar.. did you change your settings?

Yeah you're right. the F5 toggles the filter toolbar. When it is on, the toolbar on the right of my screen is two wide and when I press F5 it turns the filter off and removes the toolbar making the right side only one wide. Doing this with any toolbar works. Kind of weird but I guess it fixes the problem for now until I get a new card. Thanks for pointing that out.

Hmmm

Thats very strange indeed... i wonder what that is doing besides the refreshing of the screen... Try using the Repaint button and see if that does the same thing... Im curious!

I'm not sure if you mean 'ReDraw' (Ctrl-R), but if you do, then that doesn't work. But I did just notice that sometimes rotating the model seems to refresh the view, but only pieces at a time.

I found that sometimes a rebuild helps too, try CTRL + B if your stuck.

Yeah I have noticed that too sometimes with the rotate view making my model appear. I have a different graphics accelerator than you though.. ATI Fire GL2...

I was curious though if the REDRAW would do the same as rotating the model view.. sounds like it doesnt.

very curious behavior indeed.
