I am wondering how to go about modelling a manhole that has a demising wall inside. I have the outlet pipe on the other side of the wall created in the program, but I am not sure how to represent a wall that restricts flow into the outlet up to the designed elevation.

I have tried dividing the manhole into two separate pond nodes, one for each side of the wall, with the space between the wall and the ceiling of the manhole represented by an appropriated dimensioned outlet, but my confidence in this approach is minimal.

Any help?

You can model this as a compound outlet on a single pond:

Device#1=Culvert, Routing=Primary
Device#2=Weir, Routing=Device#1

This will require the water to flow over the weir before entering the culvert.

For full details on compound outlets please see

You might also want to look at the incoming culvert as Device 3 (routing 2), since its length or inlet characteristics may differ from the outlet culvert.

DuckEngineer,

A pond can only handle outlet devices. So in order to model the incoming pipe, it would need to be modeled as an outlet device on an upstream node. This is a typical catch-basin to catch-basin scenario as discussed at
