thanks every one, am solomon from nigeria. Am working on a project titled: investigation of the effect of pouring temperature on solididification process cast iron using modelling and simulation. i want to obtain temperature values from solidifying alloy in the mould. use the value to run a simulation on a simulation software, to check the residual stresses in the casting. can simulation multiphysics do the job? or what simultion software can i use. no procast, autocast here, please i need help with web link. someone directected me here. Again can x-rd measure residual stresses ? Am hoping in hearing from you. thanks

Yes, x-ray diffraction can measure residual stresses.

ZAASO, I presume you are a student pursuing a project. Your problem is not well defined and is too generic.
You are looking for thermal property data of various materials. Most of them can be fond in published literature .
Simulation software is proprietary in nature and you need to approach any of the companies for assistance. Trying to get them using Google yields zilch.

Residual stress in cast iron, after solidification can be measured by several other techniques, XRD being one of them.

Thanks sir , i want to simulate solidification process of ductile cast iron , starting from how it flow into the mould and how it will solidify at different pouring temperatures , then compare different liquid fraction and then optimize the various shrinkage defect at these pouring temperatures , then validate it with experimental measured. thanks for your contributions
