Single-line and Multi-line text?

I have noticed that on some drawings when I use a multi-line text box that upon shutting the window the text changes to single line text on the drawing. Is there a switch that does that and if so where is it. I'm using AutoCAD 2000 Lt. (yes I'm in the process of getting out of the dark ages with ver. 2008).

check you mtext box for "wrap"
