Hello,

I am working on large girders with openings in its web, In my model results, I see unexpected large stresses on some points due to the singularity of the point, does anyone know how to remove this problem,

Ignore it but if you really need to know the stress there then do a sub-model of that region.

hi corus
i have the same proplem of msonys.
and i'm new in using abaqus
could you please tell me what (sub-model) or send me the link for how to form it.

If you can explain the high stresses at the singularity, either by a point load or point restraint, then there's probably no need to worry about it as your modelling assumption is too crude for that point. If it is a point load and you get high stresses then you'd expect high stresses but not for the structure to fail at that point. If I put a load on a table acting through a pin then stresses under the pin will be above yield as the force per area increase with reduced area. The table doesn't necessarily break though. Think about your results and what you are getting from the model.

Details on sub modelling can be found in the manuals.
