Hi everybody,

I am looking for references on how to size a battery disconnect switch.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Yigo

The switch should be rated for the maximum current allowed by the breaker or fuse. And it should be rated for the voltage of interest.

In either case it can be rate higher.

No different than how you would size any other switch, most important ratings are current and voltage.

Voltage you must know, current is based on the load (design load, not only actual). For DC, I=W/V.

Be very careful if this disconnector is rated for a load-break application on an inductive load. Load-breaking switches for DC are a little more specialised.

I would think, YIGO realises that it has to be rated and listed for DC.
