Sizing a condensate return tank

If anyone could tell me how to properly size a condensate return tank for a two pipe steam system it would be appreciated.

It is a function of the pumps flow rate and the number of starts you can have in an hour.You do not need to size it.Speak to your local Spirax Sarco guy and he will be able to help you

You have to consider the amount of steam used in your process (1 kg of steam turns to 1 kg of condensate). Size the volume of the tank to accommodate the condensate produced in a fixed time (I usually consider the condensate produced in 1 hour), taking into account the capacity of your condensate recovery pump and its start/stop frequency. The pump must be operated through a level switch (3 probes: max level, min level, safety) to ensure it always runs in presence of water.
