Hello everyone.

I am doing some calculations of a Soil Nail Retaining wall in which the Soil Nails are skewed to 45º.
For the 2D Limit equilibrium calculations I am using the projected length of the anchor (multiplying the length by cos45) and I guess that I should also multiply by cos45 the bond stress and the bar tensile stress so that the program takes into account the proyected force. Am I right?

Many Thanks

Kind Regards

How will you account for the lateral bending of the soil nails? As the wall wants to move forward, the non-perpendicular (skewed) soil nails would need to bend, resulting in combined stress from bending and tension. I don't know of any program that handles skewed soil nails.
