Yes, Ive had experience on 8 precast arch projects using TechSpan, Alvispan, and Matiere. What's the question?

Regards

Thanks here is the question:

1. Do you wich one is the reason for having a fillmateril of a 1 m thickness inthe case of Spaion method?? I have read the articles and manuals and they don't give any technical reason. And in the USA construction process draws they indicates 2 m.

2. Can we analyse the slab as a short column?

Thanks for your help I'm realy new in this MSE firma and the have work just a little with tachspan.

Again Thanks.

I'm not sure what "slab" you are talking about. None the less the analysis of the precast arch shells is done using finite elements. For short spans say less than 4m you will get similar results using a static analysis with soil springs. The main advantage of the finite element method is that you can model stability at each construction stage and you will see the moments reverse when the crown is loaded. The reason for the 1m or 2m of granular fill around the arch is to create frictional interaction with the arch, such that the downdrag forces add to the axial compression in the shells - this axial force increases the moment capacity of the arch shells. Hope this helps. Any more questions feel free to reply.

Thanks for the help.

A last question. do you were can I find come details and more information about techspan arches?

Yes, do an internet search for "techspan arches."
