Slabs on grade - Speed Dowels

Has anyone used these?
Your opinion on this system compared to your traditional solution when using dowel bars.
Im a bit confused couse they are puting ribbed rebar inside of those holes?!

Yes they are. I've had good things and bad things said about them. Most of the bad things are to do with cost, i.e. "Those things cost a lot and take longer to get here than greased smooth dowels."

So essentially the only bad things I've heard are from guys that didn't actually read the contract documents, nor planned their material ordering correctly.

The contractor's that planned accordingly have said nothing but good things about ease of use.

Using them on a current job and heard the same feedback. Also you can put smooth dowels in them.
