slag requirements for augercast pile mix?

Apparently ready mix suppliers are having trouble getting slag and flyash around my parts.
My contractor is asking me if it's ok to omit slag from augercast pile grout mix.
I couldn't find anything in ACI that specifically requires it, or prohibits omission.
Assuming the design strength is achieved and there's statistical backup data - is there any reason not to approve this?
Construction is about 600 yards away from the coast.

Does your contractor have a mix design ready for the case there is no slag or flyash as SCM? Beyond the breaks, I'd be concerned about resistance to sulphates and chlorides.

Yes, he's submitted one for review, from the ready mix supplier. Backup data is fine. I'm now left to decide how critical the slag is.
