Slave deformable surface penetrating Master rigid surface

Hello,

I am modelling a rolling simulation. The roller is an analytic rigid body and the workpiece is deformable with C3D8R elements.

The contact is Surface-to-Surface contact (Explicit). I cannot figure out how to prevent the workpiece from penetrating the analytic rigid.

I was hoping someone could explain why this is occurring. I am looking into mesh refinement and modelling roller as discrete rigid as possible solutions.

Perhaps you've not defined the surfaces correctly. Plot CPRESS or COPEN to see where contact is being made.
