I am a Structural guy. Now I need to design a steel support for a cooling tower. I am just wondering if I need to put the sliding plates between the steel support and the cooling tower. If yes, what kind of sliding plates do I need and how to layout the fixing plates and sliding plates. The scenario is that there are a lot of bolts connecting the steel support and the cooling tower.
