Sliding snow load

The total addition roof load due to snow siding off of an adjacent higher roof is give in ASCE 7. ASCE 7 is vague on how to distribute this load. Does anyone know rules for distributing sliding snow load?

In the 1996 BOCA Code, sliding snow is added to the regular drift load in a triangular distribution over the same "Wd" length as the regular drift (1608.8)
