Morning all,

I am a civil and structural engineer UK based, however I have just taken a job which is mainly based on installing relatively light weight at the top of an embankment. (1000kg)

These installations require calculations in regards to slope stability and pile foundation, retaining wall installations

It has been about 5 years since I have done these types of calculations.

Can any one advise which are the best books for…

1. Slope stability calculations
2. Pile foundation design
3. Retaining wall calculation and design

Any advice would be appreciated

Recommended for you

1 - Duncan and Wright - Soil strength and slope stability
2 - Tomlinson - pile design and construction practice
3 - not many books available for pure retaining wall design IMO, well ones applicable to UK but Das - Principals of Geotechnical Engineering is a good reference for all things geotechnical.

But anyways, make a stab at calculations and post your work here. Most people are very helpful when they see someone has made a genuine effort to solve a problem and need some guidance. Just not so helpful for people who want others to do the work for them!
