Hi Guys,
I am experimenting with slot milling. I have used the very basic but sometimes useful groove milling op and the tried similar with the floor and wall op. I have a part profile I would like to make which is a bit more complicated (for me) and I believe can be accomplished with the planar milling operation. I can't get it to work. Part file is attached. My last two ops in manufacturing show groove milling and floor and wall, neither is satisfactory. I want to cut the main slot and the remove the small amount of undercutting material underneath it with the same disc milling tool. Could anyone kindly help!

many thanks,
James

Bottom undercut I can get with floor and wall op...

Top slot I am struggling with a planar milling op. Can't seem to get the 'specify part boundaries' right. If I do it as 'user defined open edge' and set the material side it will cut but only the thickness of the cutter, no levels...

cheers!

The plane of the boundary is where the start of the cut levels begin.
So if the boundary is on the floor then you will not get any cut levels.
