Hi everyone,

Where can I find a .055 drill bit and maybe even a reamer? any websites out there with really small tooling? Sandvik doesn't offer anything this small. the smallest is .059.
I am machining kovar material so it will have to have some kind of coating on it as well. I will be using a mazak QTN100MSY machine.

thanks,

0.055 inches would be a #54 drill. These are available from a number of machine tool suppliers. Brands available include Cleveland and OSG.

You might w to heck out National Jet Company. This and Gurhing eree our source for all small tooling. Both have very good products.
Watch out using these drill on automatics as there is a very definitive performance due to drill form. National Jet is top of the line in making small holes.
