Hello Everybody
I have a problem.
I want to simulate human rib bone in Abaqus Software, so i take this steps:
Catia Software=>Sketch tracer=>Draw Sections from CT image=>Extract Closed Curve=>Multi Sections Surface=>Closed Surface=>Multi Sections Solid (Picture 1,2)=>Save .stp File=>Import in Abaqus (Picture 3).
Problem:
When i want to mesh the part in Abaqus, there is small faces (Picture 3) and this small faces create the small and distorted elements.
Now How can i solve this problem? Should i change my import format? if yes To what? or change my draw approach in Catia Software? or ...
With Best Regards.
yassou.

Use 'Curve Smooth' on each of the sections before using the 'Multi Section Surface'. It will take some playing with but you should be able to get a nice looking part. It might also be good to create some guide curves to help guide the surface where you want.

yes, I think you should try to clean your multi-sect surface a bit... all the verices lead to the multitude of small faces... try to align your sections with guide curves, i.e manual connection.

Hi dear weagan22
Thanks for your respond.
Indeed you are right, I tried the Curve Smooth and extra/redundant vertices removed. but other problem raised.
Now Multi Section Surface did not work. maybe the Sketch get too simplified and i think there is not enough vertices in Sketch to get connected to the other Counterpart Sketch Vertices.
How can i Put vertices on the created smoothed curves ?
With Best Regards.

Hi dear LWolf
Thanks for your respond.
Can you explain more about the try to align your sections with guide curves, i.e manual connection. ?
I know how to create guide curves, but i did not hear anything about manual connection.
With Best Regards.

Once you do the smoothing you will need to manually add points on each of the sections (i.e. add a point at the top and bottom of each section) and then pull a spline through the points. You can then use this spline as a guide curve for the multi-section surface (you may need more than 1 spline to get it to work).
