small gas spring

Hi,

I'm looking for small gas spring (3.5" max. overall length after extension). Could anyone point me to any companies who make small gas springs? by the way, how small can a gas spring go? is there any limitations?

I'm interested in gas spring's ability of providing force and dampening at the same time.
