I'm trying to learn smart fasteners but have been frustrated getting a bolt to go through both plates. Until I manually edit the fastener, the length is set to penetrate just one plate.
I understand that both holes need to be supported types and I think they are--holes are created with hole wizard, similar diameter, and aligned with no gap.
To attempt a workaround, I changed the smart fastener properties to lengthen the bolt but then when I add a nut onto the bottom stack, the nut is inside the bottom plate of material instead of on top of it.
I've posted an eDrawings version of this assembly at
If you hide the part named "bearing", you'll discover the nuts inside it.
Note: Is this an easy format for everyone to open or is there another format I should be using?
