Thanks in anticipation...

Hi TVP & rb1957:

The "Aerospace Structural Metals Handbook" from Purdue probably does give me the data I need (S-N for 8090/T8511), but at a huge cost. The free area of Matweb doesn't go as far as S-N data, but at least it has provided me with basic static data...

Thanks guys,
Louis

StressMan2506,

I recommend going to the closest university library to see if they have ASMH in the reference section. Actually, most large university libraries have online search engines of their entire collections, so you could check that first before making the actual trek...

SM2506...

Suggest contacting the fabricator for a "white [or green] paper" on 8090. They should have this data ... at least "S" values.

One source I have on record, is the folllowing company...

Aluminium Corporation Limited
A subsidiary of British Alcan Aluminium plc
Dolgarrog, Conwy, Gwynedd LL32 8JH, Wales

Regards, Wil Taylor

Thanks Wil, but the immediate need has disappeared. The components in question were manufactured from an alternate alloy...I'll keep a note of Aluminium Corp.
