Hi Everyone,

I work at a refinery and I'm interested in installing a snuffing steam valve for one of our sulfur tanks.

I'm familiar with NFPA 75 as far as valve sizing. Is there anything else I need to know as far as specifying when working with the valve vendor?

Pretty much I have the correct design pressure and I'm asking the valve vendor to make it FO and ON/OFF.

Also, is there anything else I should consider when installing it? My goal is to have the position indicator visible from grade so that operating personnel can see if it's open. Also, I'm going to install inlet and outlet gate valves so maintenance can be done on it.

Anything else?

It sounds that you have done some work for the steam valve design in the sulfur tank. you may want to review your design with the O&M and PSM experts for their input and approval.
Is there a P&ID or process sketch can be share for reference?
