How big diesel generator, we need to prepare for testing.

Safe choice: 7800 kW
Starting the compressor only with no other loads: Possibly 6500 kW
A smaller generator may be possible in the case of special circumstances or combined generator/compressor starting.
For VFD starting use 5200 kW. Minimum 200%, to allow for distortion wave form and its effect on the Automatic Voltage Regulator. (AVR)
