Greetings all;
I have a temporary project just landed in my lap with an immediate start date. Pumping and remediating ground water contamination for metals in a groundwater perimeter wellpoint system while construction of a lift station is commencing.
Long story short, part of the treatment train uses Sodium Hypochlorite injection into process plumbing to precipitate out and remove metals contamination.
Due to lack of time, and more thorough design, we are using a IBC tote of 12.5% Sodium Hypochlorite, on an elevated platform feeding chemical injection pumps below.
The IBC tote isolation valve we are connecting to I believe is a polypropylene material, and is a male camlock connection fitting. My local chemical supplier suggests adapting a female camlock fitting x male npt here, and continue adapting to the injection plumbing downstream.
Can I use a matching polypropylene material in the female camlock with SS304 lever ears, or should I source for example a PVDF female camlock fitting with a FKM/Viton camlock gasket?
The downstream plumbing is planned on being PVC or CPVC due to outside exposure and summer heat conditions.
Any advice is greatly appreciated, and thank you!
