Sodium methoxide and Biodiesel storage blanketing 1

Has anyone ever considered blanketing biodiesel and sodium methoxide in methanol solution tanks with CO2? I thought it would be interesting to blanket the tanks with CO2, since it is heavier than air and it may provide a rather stable isolation between the liquid and the atmosphere having a normal venting.-

Recommended for you

Most people don't use CO2 for blanketing because it leaves an oily residue on everything. Look into a can of soda the next time you open it. There is an oil film floating on the top, it comes from the CO2. Maybe your process could tolerate that, most people don't want to find out.
