I am pricing AutoDesk products and there is only one reseller in my area. Looking on the Internet, I can find pricing 20% less than what the local reseller wants for AutoDesk’s Architectural Desktop and Building Mechanical software. Can anyone give me advice how to get the best price for these products? Has there been a problem with purchases outside of a reseller’s district and then using it within a different district than purchased?

It may be more of a problem of support more than anything. If you do not need any support, purchase the cheaper ones.

I am just trying to research AutoCAD Software that was given to me after a relative passed away. Your post indicated there may be issues I need to think about related to support/ownership for this product. The software was purchased in Jan '02 and more than likely registered at that time. Do you know if there is a need or a way to have it re-registered? Any help you can give would be appreciated. Thank you.

Have the executor of the estate of your relative contact the reseller from whom the software was purchased or AutoDesk if you don't know. They should be able to help you. Steve Smith
