Hello there:

I'm looking for an excel spreadsheet to model Brooks-Corey equation or VG for soil retention curves. I'm trying to figure out the soil parameters such as: Qr, Qs, Yb, and lambda using the root mean square deviation. Would anyone like to share one.....thanks

You are not likely to find anyone who will help insofar as you have not indicated any attempt on your part to research and try to develop your own spreadsheet. If you had done so and had a problem, then you could ask for specific comments . . . but unless you show that you have tried, I doubt others pass on their hard work.

Hello there:

I did my homework sir. I've been studying the Lu and Likos book (Unsat soils) for the past 6 months, please see attached. The problem I have in the spreadsheet with the solver is fixing the square mean error to zero to generate the correct coefficients. Have you done this before...?
Thanks

I've not and am not that well versed with excel . . . hopefully, now, someone may be able to help.

Hey BigH: I'll bet there won't be many takers. Us old guys managed to grind out the jobs without the computers. I'd suspect the problem is not with the spreadsheet, but with the input and the set up of calculations. That can be tricky.

what's the end game?

In general, I'm not drawn to unsaturated soil mechanics, 'cause I design earthworks to be weatherproof.

I would like to know how this exercise in unsaturated soil mechanics is addressing a practical design problem.
