Hello,

I'm trying to source a macro that will locate the centre of mass/gravity of all components within an assembly relative to a specific point (i.e. the assembly origin) and export both the part name, mass and x,y,z coordinates to an excel file.

Effectively I'm trying to incorporate the parametric capabilities of solidworks to iteratively optimise the structural configuration of an assembly. However, at this stage I'd just like to avoid clicking on and recording the position and mass of each component within what is a fairly large and complex assembly.

Would really appreciate help with this. Thank you in advance.

That would be great but unfortunately I'm only running 2012, any thoughts/macros with this version?

Ha! Indeed, although I'm Mark Thompson, great investigative work tho! Just added a reply to Deepak's last comment outlining how I'm looking to extend this functionality further. I'm going to have a stab at it but unfortunately I'm no programmer...

Any feedback/input would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Mark.
