I understand sheetmetal tools, but I do not need a flattened box; in other words, I would like to convert a sold body(s) to plate steel, which would then become a weldment. I'm trying to manufacture some simple, steel tanks, and then have the plate steel pre-cut. What tools or operators enable this function aside from having to "stick" build the components? A solid-to-sheet method would be much more efficient. Thank you in advance for your help.

Check out the weldment functionality if you haven't yet.

I don't fully understand everything I know.

You could create a single piece solid model, and then use the Split function to create the individual bodiess. The resulting multi-body part could then be saved as an assy with individual parts.

Skip the Split function and create a multi-body part from the start, and then save as an assy with individual parts.

CorBlimeyLimey, the split function worked well. But, I see a problem where the splits are perfect; it does not allow a provision for gapping the components to size for fit and weld. I have converted each item to a weldment, but is there a way to joint-treat the connections following a split? Thanks again.
