Hi,

I'm currently running Solid Edge ST1 on a Windows 7 computer, however the files that I'm working on are on my supervisors computer which I'm accessing over a network connection.
Just yesterday I've started getting messages when I try to save saying Solid Edge cannot save the file, but I still have access to the network. When this happens I also cannot save as to my computer anymore. If I'm working on a file located on my computer I don't have this problem. We've had some network problems with Windows 7 before. Does anybody have any expereience with Solid Edge and network problems?

FYI, ST1 is not supported on Win 7. Win 7 support was introduced w/ ST2 MP2 and above.

I've heard that before, but several of my coworkers and I have been using Windows 7 with ST for 5 months now wihtout any mojo hiccups.

I’ll bite back my initial sarcastic response to that and focus at the issue at hand ;-)

When you say accessing the network, what exactly are you referring to? Are you accessing the network location thru a UNC path, a WebDAV path, a mapped drive? How exactly? Each is handled subtly different by the OS.

ST2 handles these errors better.

In my experience Solid Edge has always been sensitive to network 'glitches'.
The slightest interuption can cause the file you are qorking on to become 'read only'.

Where would we be without sat-nav?
